Jin Akanishi - Japonicana Tour

On March 10th, I went to see Jin Akanishi in Vancouver for his Japonicana Tour, it was held at the center for performing arts.

I've always been a big fan of Jin (in both KAT-TUN and his solo works) so I really wanted to go.  My friend Kathy offered to go with me and help purchase the tickets.  In February the presale tickets went on sale and we waited until exactly 3 PM on the dot to buy them, and she quickly got us the VIP Meet and Greet ticket bundle which totalled to about $190 each.  Expensive!  And a second later everything was ALL sold out.

Anyways, so the big day eventually came and we met up and headed to the venue.    I've never been to this venue and I was surprised of how posh it was.   By the grand staircase the wall was made of massive collections of mirrors and it would be the perfect place to snap outfits, but we just wanted to get our seats.

Beauty Haul

Been a while since I posted, so I thought a quick post on what I've purchased lately would be a simple way to liven up this blog haaha...  I splurged a bit at Daiso today. :)

Oh, and yesterday I got a package deal at  Banana Tans so I'm going to be going there from now on.  I've never been indoor tanning before but I heard its really great from my doctor for people like me who suffer from SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder.)
Hopefully my mood will just keep going up up and maybe I'll even get my all-natural skin back before all those whitening cremes and prison pallor..

D.I.A Q&A #1 - Sizing

I think a lot of people have questions about the brand d.i.a, because they have no web presence it's hard to find information regarding their sizes and so on, so I'm making a series of translating some questions answered by d.i.a shop staff.  I hope it's useful!

Q:Since I want to buy some d.i.a pieces (tops, bottom, bras) could you describe how the sizing works?  For example, for size M, can you describe the measurements in cm?

A:  Tops are free size (one size fits all).

Pants come in the following sizes:
P, XS, S, M

Here's a chart going from letter size, waist size, to hip size

P ----> 23" = 80-82 cm
XS --> 24" = 82-84 cm
S ----> 25" = 84-86 cm
M ---> 26" = 86-88 cm

Because their bottoms are low rise, please choose your size by your hip circumference rather than your waist size.

Bras are free size (one size fits all) (please keep in mind these are Japanese bra sizes)
A~C (with padding)
A~F (without padding)
Underbust  65-75 cm.

Cocktails - Bright, Fruity and Tropical

This post is not really gal related, but something I find interesting: mixology.  The idea of this post came up since for my friend's birthday party, I'm going to be playing bartender and mixing cocktails for everyone.  I'm actually planning to enroll in bartending school once I turn 18, so that will be my part time job to help pay for school and other expenses.

I'm thinking of making this a series, so the first one is tropical focused, since thats the focus for our party.  I love these sorts of cocktails, since not only do they taste good, but they're nice to look at!

First post!

Hey gals~
I finally made another blog this time, on blogspot, that I intend to keep.  I'm always bad at keeping up with these things...

Anyways! A bit about myself!
I'm a 17 year old girl in Canada and leader of the gyarusa Sakuran Bomb.

You might be wondering why I chose the title of kurogyaru.

I picked it because the modern kurogyaru style of the d.i.a shop staff and tsuyome is what I strive for... it is totally me and it made me realize I should be happy with what I was born with.  I was born with very dark skin but I artificially lightened it for a long time to its current shade now, but I decided I will get my dark dark skin back and live as a kurogyaru and not be ashamed anymore.

On a somewhat related note, some gets!

I bought these 3 tops on a community sale page~ of course they are d.i.a.. i have about 4 items in total now from d.i.a , all tops.  I mostly buy second hand because its cheaper!  Super love d.i.a, I find their clothes are all flattering on my body, are never too loose and compliment the rest of my wardrobe perfectly.

Until next time~
